I'm on a HUGE Steve Martin kick today. God DAMN, those early comedy albums are insanely good.

I bought Wild and Crazy Guy on itunes, pretty damn good. Is there a TV special available? I'm sure I've seen footage of his stand up but can't seem to find a full show.

A fair whack of the stuff off of a Wild and Crazy Guy is up on youtube, as is a lot of the stuff from Let's Get Small, and some of it's fairly decent quality (or at least, professionally shot), which would suggest there was at least a VHS or two of live gigs... would love to get a hold of said tape if anyone knows where I could get such a thing!

There are also snippets online of various SNL/misc TV appearances (Comedy for Dogs etc), but as you said it seems very difficult to get a hold of a full show.

Would really appreciate it if you'd fire me any information you manage to get!

In the meantime....

Found it, although the concert footage is only part of the hour long tape.

from £3.20, I think I'll order up a copy.

Brililant! Ditto. Cheers.

I have an iTunes voucher which needs burning up, gon' grab the other two Steve Martin albums this avo I reckon. Hell, if there's enough left over, I might even pick up his latest banjo offering.

Was chatting to Paul Currie, who recently went over to see him in London, said that he finished the show with a storming version of King Tut - maybe there's hope for Steve yet!

Ah, sorry - I didn't explain myself properly. He's not back doing stand-up, he's touring his latest (serious) banjo album.

Would absoloutely love to borrow that book though, cheers!

Ahh it's nice to see him do something other than fart gags and silly French voices. Reminded me a bit of the Great Flydini!

If you're at the Pav tonight I'll bring you a copy of "Let's Get Small" if you like?
