MATT PRICE

Riding three comedy horses at the same time is never easy; Cornish-born, Cardiff-based Matt Price makes it look effortless. He can be affable compere, stand-up comic or storyteller, depending on the circumstances … often all three at the same time. He is resident compere at the Phoenix Comedy Club in Cardiff and can often be found at small gigs trying out new material. More comfortable on stage than anywhere else, Matt’s unique approach to comedy – he’s been known to do most of his show whilst standing in the middle of the audience, rather than on stage – and his engaging, absorbing tales have made him one of British comedy’s best-kept secrets.

Matt has gigged in front of Ex-pat audiences in Germany, Switzerland and Dubai. He has also performed at Broadmoor Maximum Security Hospital, “Monster laughs” (The Sun) – an experience, which went a long way to forming his well received 2009 debut Edinburgh solo show, “My Girlfriend was attacked…”

In 2009, Matt also hosted the sold out late night show at the Tron in Edinburgh, F*cking Funny for a Fiver, where he furthered his reputation as a strong, reliable and very funny MC – “This late night gig is a real gem of Stand up comedy in Edinburgh.” (Four Stars, Three Weeks.)

In 2008, Matt hosted the popular show ‘South By South Wales’, showcasing the best of new Welsh comedy talent at the Gilded Balloon.
